Whether you are looking for ancient relics hidden in temples or swimming in the clear waters of tropical islands, you will find something exciting to explore. The nearest island to Bangkok, but worth a visit is Chiang Mai, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand.

Whether you dream of a quiet seaside retreat or prefer a frequent night out in the city, these popular spots have something for everyone.
On the side of the city itself, Bangkok is also surrounded by many interesting provinces that are worth a visit. In most provinces of Thailand, which do not have exotic features, traces of history can be seen. Another interesting place is the center of Koh Samui, where the famous Khao San Road is located, a popular tourist attraction.
If you drive a little further east on Koh Chang, you can visit Koh Mak and Koh Kood, which are probably my favorite Thai islands. We continue east to Ko Tarutao, a UNESCO-protected ASEAN Heritage Park, and then east again to Koh Tarutao, where Survivor Thailand was filmed.
The southeastern province of Thailand has a colorful military history, and Kanchanaburi has the history of World War II that you will find outside Bangkok, Thailand. There are dozens of ancient sites to visit, some of which tell stories of the great but doomed kingdom of Ayutthaya, which was the capital of Siam from 1351 to 1767.

Nonthaburi is the second largest city in Thailand, next to Bangkok, but it feels strangely rural compared to the city centre. It is a much slower, rural town on the Chao Phraya River and borders the capital Bangkok and the islands of Ko Kret and Koh Kred. The first and only famous place is KoKret (KohKred), an island with many sights. These islands, which swim in the Phraysa River, are easily accessible from Bangkok, but clearly enough to earn their own place on this list.
Getting there: As Bangkok is located in the middle of central Thailand, it is best to forget this area by car or bus. The best way to get there is to take a bus or van from Ekkamai Bus Station in Bangkok or Pattaya and then take a taxi to Koh Samae San Pier.
Similar to Krabi and Phuket, it is impossible to list a single attraction, but with the number of beaches and islands that make up Phang Nga, you will have no problem doing anything. The beaches of Hua Hin are considered the best in Southeast Asia for windsurfing, so if you're a pro or just want to get started, take a trip here. The Khao Yai National Park is the largest national park in Thailand and is crowded with tourists, which makes it such a peaceful and pleasant visit. You can take a long day trip from Bangkok, but it is worth staying a few nights, and there are many hotels and restaurants in the area, as well as a number of restaurants and shops to visit.
